She kills a kitten by drowning it. So natalie is tulips only friend, they mess around together and cause alot of trouble, which natalie gets the blame for but tulip does all the work! Tulip is evil and knows herself as evil, she loves waching fire and then once natalie got involved with the fire, they ran but natalie is slowing turn in into a colone of tulip. Until things get out of hand and tulip decides to burn the school! It ends up in tears and natalie is memorized. -Tulips shadow's the evil. The Tulip Touch is a children's novel by Anne Fine published in 1996.

Natalie lives with her family: her father, who is a hotel manager, and her mother, who lavishes attention on her younger brother Julius. They go to live at a hotel called 'The Palace' and Natalie meets a strange, silent girl called Tulip, cradling a kitten. Nobody wants to be around Tulip but her outlandish behaviour doesn't matter to Natalie. At first she finds Tulip exciting and she doesn't care that other people are upset by her pranks. But then Natalie realises that Tulip is going too far.

She becomes Tulip's friend easily and she finds that she is 'addicted' to Tulip. Meanwhile, Tulip just uses Natalie as no one wants to be around her.

Natalie finally breaks away from Tulip but now Tulip wants Natalie back. Natalie makes friends with other people. In the end Tulip burns down The Palace.
