Organisational dilemna is all about how to reconcile inconsistency between individual needs and aspirations on the one hand, and the collective purpose of the organisation on the other.
First the relationship is reciprocal, a manager can be a stakeholder and a stakeholder can be a manager.A stakeholder is any person with a interest in the project. It might be the CEO of the company, a manager, a client, etc... Sometimes, there are conflicting motivations between the stakeholder that wants profit and manager that wants leisure and security, these motivations are called agency problem. Solutions to Agency Problems: · Compensation as incentive. · Extending to all workers stock ,bonuses and grants of stock. · Making workers act more like owners of the firm
The most simplistic and most effective is ASK! Most employees will not vent grievances in a one to one or group discussion. Therefore to break the dilemma use a simple tick box and suggestion box questionnaire. This can be made in Word or any-other office based word processor where the employee can place an X in a multi-choice box and use a text box where you would feel that you want their direct input so they type in their answer. Printed out and then sent to whoever is responsible for collation. Collate using a spreadsheet and there you have employee feedback which can be used to inform the company business plan without risking false feedback - just keep It anonymous
The Policy Implications of Diversity1. Increasing social, religious and cultural diversity poses numerous philosophical, political and policy issues2. At a fundamental level, a key question is: how should we live together?- Should we pursue 'assimilation' or 'integration', or alternatively some kind of 'pluralism', 'multiculturalism' and the celebration of diversity; or should we seek a bit of both integration and pluralism?- What are the implications of the Treaty of Waitangi and the quest for 'biculturalism' for public policy in NZ?- What are the limits to tolerance? What criteria should we use to determine when a cultural or religious practice is unacceptable? Who should decide? And how should the state respond when the values of a particular group are in conflict with widely agreed norms?3. Note that some types of diversity are the direct result of government policy (migration, tax, welfare, etc.), but many types of diversity are not amenable to direct (or indirect) government control4. Governments can respond to diversity in a variety of ways, using a range of policy instruments - e.g. prevention, discouragement, encouragement and enforcement5. Diversity brings benefits, but also imposes costsAnd therein lies one of the central dilemmas of political life in developed societies: sharing and solidarity can conflict with diversity. This is an especially acute dilemma for progressives who want plenty of both solidarity (high social cohesion and generous welfare paid out of a progressive tax system) and diversity (equal respect for a wide range of people, values and ways of life). The tension between the two values is a reminder that serious politics is about trade-offs.David Goodhart (2004)

Euler's dilemma is based on the seven bridges of Konigsberg. The question was could one start at one point and return there having cross each bridge once and only once. The answer, as Euler proved, was No. This question has important consequences for graph theory and, later, for topology. A popular version of the dilemma was to draw figures without lifting pen from paper. For more on the Bridges of Konigsberg, see the attached link.
