Here, a sound outlook of life means one healthy to be adopted, which would promote and encourage the progress of life in a way that the person leading that life would feel somewhat a satisfaction in his actions in life. Lust, greed and jealousy are what commonly renders one's outlook of life unsound. The ancient scholars in the Orient have perfectly advised how to close the path to lust. Attachment leads to interest, interest leads to love, love leads to passion, passion leads to lust and lust leads to ultimately hate. Therefore to escape from developing a life of lust and hate lead a life unattached.
