Schloss Neuschwanstein, which many Americans call "The Cinderella Castle." It was commissioned by Mad King Ludwig and opened up to the public seven years after his death. The castle was build as a homage to the composer Richard Wagner, and the influences of his work are prominent throughout the castle. It is a beautiful castle (trust me I've been there) hiding amongst the German Alps. A very popular tourist spot full of old murals and furniture. Makes you feel like you're living in a fantasy world.
Without doubt, the most famous German castle is Schloss (castle) Neuschwanstein. It is the model for Disney's famous castle in movies andat Disneyland with all the turrets and towers.
