Many people think there is no predators of crayfish in England. Well they are morons who don't see many river animals. My mum LOVES crayfish and me and my family are from England and in fact, we caught 4 crayfish today and we got them in a pot. There is actually natural predators. Herons, otters, wild, feral or stray cats, mink and other crayfish eats crayfish.
It helps the crayfish to move around in the water. It is located in a spot that makes it difficult for predators to get at.
A Cray fish's predator are the Racoon and other bigger fish.
