range as in what would be the thickest to be considered a B string right? if so with regular guitar strings

11 on a 9-42 set

13 on a 10-46 set

14 on a 11-49+ set some companies do 11-50 ..ect

15 on a 12-52 set (give or take)

17 on a 13-56+ set

What is interesting about guitar strings is you can use say a high E string in say an 11-50 set you can use that as a B string for a light gauge of strings. It's all about comfort I mean as long as your B string isn't thicker than your G string. The rule of thumb is the thinner the string the higher they can tune as well.

What is the average price of a Washburn guitar?

Washburn guitars have a wide price range due to the many different models they make. The most popular would be a six string guitar (but a 4 string bass is avilable) and the average price for an electric guitar is around $1000

What gauge does a normal electric guitar use?

If you are referring to string gauge, it is usually approximately .1mm to .5mm range. The finer the strings, the more flexibility, but they are also less durable and may break easily, depending on how much you abuse them. I like to play blues with some very high bends (2-3 semitones), so I use a finer .08 to .42 range. I generally buy several packs as I break the B and high E sometimes. You can opt for a thicker gauge string, but it is less flexible and harder to bend.

Can you use a guitar string to replace the G string on a bass?

There are many variables to consider. Like the gauges of your other string's and the type of string. ie: steel, nylon ,bronze etc.. On standard packages of guitar strings they are usually gauged by the high E string. For example a set of "10's" are called "light" gauge and range from (low E to High E) 46-36-26-17-13-10 . A set of "9's" would be low to high 42-32-24-16-11-09 So as you can see using a "B" string for a "E" string just means using a heavier gauge string. Some medium gauge and heavy gauge strings are 12 or 13 gauge for the high "E" and a set of ultralight strings have 08 for the "E" and 11 for the ""B" string. So using a 11 for a "e" is like going from ultralight to medium gauge for that one string. Electric guitars are set up for a certain gauge of strings and if you change to another gauge you will most likely need to do a intonation setup afterword or the guitar won't play in tune all over the neck. You can get in tune on the open strings but when you play higher up the neck the guitar will be more and more out of tune.

What is the range of a classical guitar?

The exact range varies from guitar to guitar, it depends on the total number of frets available and the number of strings(yes, even some classical guitars have extended range). My classical has 18 frets over 6 strings which results in a range from E2(open top E string when tuned to standard) to B6 on the 18th fret of the high E string.

What is an electric guitar?

An electric guitar is a non-hollow guitar with its sound amplified through speakers(amplifiers). It can give you much better effects than the Acoustic. They can range from a measly 25 USD to about 10000 USD depending on the range you would like to purchase.

What is an extended range electric guitar?

An extended range electric guitar allows for playing a broader range of notes on the instrument through either additional strings or more frets. 7 string guitars are very common, 8 and 9 string guitars are growing in popularity, and there are also a few manufactures who will make a guitar with 10 or more strings. When talking about extended range guitars one point to discuss is a multiscale design. This is where the highest string is shortest and each string is progressively longer with the bass string being the longest. This design becomes more common as the number of strings increases. It is done for better tone in the bass strings, better string tension across the range, better note definition across the range, more accurate intonation, and it reduces Inharmonicity. Also, some guitars have more frets than the common 24, 22, or 21 frets. 29 frets still allows 2 humbuckers and 36 frets will allow 1 humbucker in a 25.5 inch scale length.

When do you use a 5 string bass guitar?

A five-string bass is used to expand the range of notes which can be played on it. Either you add a string that has higher notes, or a string that has lower notes, as compared to a four-string bass.

Should you buy a 4 or 5 string base guitar?

A 4-string bass guitar might be a better guitar to buy for the beginner. It is easier to play than the 5-string bass. The 50string bass can be good for more intermediate players. Because of its extended range, it gives off a better quality of sound.
