There are many variables to consider. Like the gauges of your other string's and the type of string. ie: steel, nylon ,bronze etc.. On standard packages of guitar strings they are usually gauged by the high E string. For example a set of "10's" are called "light" gauge
and range from (low E to High E) 46-36-26-17-13-10 . A set of "9's" would be low to high
42-32-24-16-11-09 So as you can see using a "B" string for a "E" string just means using a heavier gauge string. Some medium gauge and heavy gauge strings are 12 or 13 gauge for the high "E" and a set of ultralight strings have 08 for the "E" and 11 for the ""B" string. So using a 11 for a "e" is like going from ultralight to medium gauge for that one string. Electric Guitars are set up for a certain gauge of strings and if you change to another gauge you will most likely need to do a intonation setup afterword or the guitar won't play in tune all over the neck. You can get in tune on the open strings but when you play higher up the neck the guitar will be more and more out of tune.
You can do that, but dont expect it to sound like a G string.
You could but the bass would not sound right because G string is kind of high pitched and a bass plays really low.
yes and a bass, its all in what tuning you use
A five-string bass is used to expand the range of notes which can be played on it. Either you add a string that has higher notes, or a string that has lower notes, as compared to a four-string bass.
Using pick is not a matter of number of strings, it is rather a matter of personal preference or style of music you are playing. With a 4-string bass, you can use both pick and fingers.

Bass clef.
No.
The most common bass guitar is the four string bass. It is possible to use just one string during a bass solo, as a skilled player can create a variety of notes and effects with just the one string.

Electromagnets are not used on bass guitars, but guitar and bass guitar pickups use magnets in order to turn the string's vibration into an electrical signal to send to amplifier.

You don't be lazy and use your fingers!
Cort Artisan A4-4 string
Thought I've never tried this, I highly doubt using bass strings on a guitar would work. First of all, the bass string likely wouldn't fit inside a guitar's tuning peg. Also, the action on a guitar simply wouldn't work with a bass string. As far as pickups go, I'm not sure what bass frequencies would do to a guitar pickup, but i wouldn't try.

The guitar can be used as a guitar or bass.
It works, obviously has a lot more bass in the sound than the kind of guitar amp you would use for a 6 string guitar. I have used one with a six string, because I like that bass sound. It doesn't have any effects built in, though there is an effect in/out on the back of the case.
