What is the relationship between atma and samsara?

samsara or sasara is creating because of the lust, hatred and delusion. According to Theravada Buddhism there is nothing called atma. we think there is something like that because of the illusion.Atma is existing deeply in our mind because we think there is a real person called "I". If there is someone like "I" we have been able to control things as we like. For example we can reduce being ill. stop become old. stop getting died etc. Because of this illusion we are remaining in sasara without any liberation. sasra is the given name to the journey which is having endless births and deths. All the creatures in this whole universe attached to this sasara and going a endless journey. According to the Theravada Buddhism there are six places that creatures can be born. First one is hell.second one the world of specters . The third one as animals. Forth one as humans. Fifth one as gods and last one as Brahmas. Anyone can born in any category. The place we are going to born is decided by the karma which is referring to the deeds we have done in this life or past lives. The thing is you have to identify the truth of the life and try to find the way to get rid of it. And remember there is only one way.
