leaching
Process by which substances are washed through or out of the soil is called leaching.
The subsoil becomes rich in minerals as minerals from the topsoil leach down into the subsoil.
topsoil is the top layer. its a mixture of small rock pieces, humus, and other organic material. most living things are in the topsoil. rain sinks into the topsoil. it carries minerals to the subsoil (2nd layer)
By high wind erosion, flood and, animal grazing
The source of soil is erosion of rocks and minerals into dirt. It takes up to 1,000 years to create one inch of topsoil.
Topsoil is not a mineral, but it contains minerals.

Topsoil.
it is made up of decomposed bits of minerals from the humos layer
You probably are thinking about soil erosion. When the topsoil and minerals wash away, it is harder for plants to grow.
Physical removal of flora, removal of topsoil, change in drainage, resulting in too little/too much water.
Topsoil is important because it is easy for plant roots to find their way through. It also has better drainage than the hard clay underneath.
Erosion is the removal of the topsoil either by water or wind, while weathering is the break down of rock to form soil.
