well, sorry to answer your question with a question, but why do you want to?
the aviation community provides jobs for thousands of people, and world commerce is possible mainly because of aircraft. and if this is about global warming, the question I would ask is how do you make aircraft cleaner, versus eliminating flight. if this is about traffic, I would say to ease that make more runways or airports around principal towns. this method can be successful, (forgive my misspell) take Ontario international as an LAX alternative for example. the only problem with this dream is CASH. well, that's all I could think of.
actually, if this is about global warming, forget it, you cant really tell whether the climate change is caused by natural events or not, smog might actually be having the reverse effect. if you belive the earth used to be a big ball of magma 4 billion years ago, it should'NT be hard to belive in natural causes as the culprit in global warming.
