It really all depends on the procedure. But basically you shouldn't eat or drink anything 8 hours before the operation. (you will be a little hungry but it is safer not to eat or drink.) make sure you sleep well. You will probably have to show up early. dress in loose fitting clothes. You will be checked in, fill out any papers, forms blah blah blah. You will have a nurse hook you up to an IV (Intravenous) to keep you hydrated. Your doctor may come talk to you before the procedure. You may be asked over and over again what your name is and what procedure you are there for...(just so they don't mix up patients.. don't worry its no big deal) They may or may not give you a liquid sorry cant remember the name, it will make you sleepy and some side affects are basically falling asleep right away which isn't bad. Then they will take you in for your operation. They will give you the Anesthesia and ask you to count down from 10. ( you will probably only get to 8 maybe 7) you might get a breating tube in but you wont even remember and it doesnt hurt......They operate......You go into recovery they will wake you up and they will probably try to talk to you to make sure your fine. but your gona be to tired to even wana talk. then when its time you go home...and you recover some more...
hope it helped.
