Best Answer

Technically, a diagnosis for autism requires evidence of a deficit in three areas: 1) Social, 2) Language, 3) Sensory. Children with autism typically display language delays in conjunction with difficulty socializing. Additionally, evidence of stereotypical behavior is also present. This is most commonly seen in actions such as hand flapping, lining up toys, toe walking, etc.
