The only US Bicentennial coins struck in silver were made of 40% clad composition and sold to collectors in mint or proof sets. Their value depends on the current price of silver. As of 04/2011 silver is over $40/oz so the coins' approximate values are as follows. The wide ranges for most prices is due to varying quality of the coins' strikes.

  • $1 coin: $13 to $30 uncirculated, $13 to $18 proof
  • Half dollar: $5 to $24 uncirculated, $6 to $16 proof
  • Quarter: $3 to $22 uncirculated, $3 to $17 proof

All of the silver pieces were made in San Francisco, so anything that you find with a D mint mark or no mint mark will be a copper-nickel clad coin only worth face value.
