Average weight of Fender Telecaster is around 7.0 lbs
Same as the Stratocaster.
7 lbs. is maybe for one with an ash or alder body. Basswood and other light woods (used mostly on Asian guitar bodies) will be a bit lighter. A Strat without a tremelo (hard tail) will weigh about the same, but a Strat routed for a tremelo will be just slightly lighter.
All Fender Stratocasters have different weights depending on the kind of pickups or different kinds of wood that they are made out of. They are about three pounds.
IMPORTANT
If your guitar says fender and weighs in at 3 pounds it's a fake.
Strats DO range in weights depending mainly on the type of wood they're made from but below 6 pounds is suspect because tone wood is heavy.
Asian Strats sometimes have alternate wood basswood etc which can reduce the weight but again, 3 pounds as mentioned above is alarming.
CBS strats (70's) can be heavier that Gibsons, mine is just over 11 pounds which is a result of the maple construction.
From what Ive found out, weighing one of my old ones the weight of a Telecaster is around 7.5 pounds. Thats with the two common pickups and nothing else and doesnt include the ashtray cover. Now, the Strat weighs about the same at 7.8 pounds could be due to the added square inches. The fakes weigh in around 5.5 to 6 pounds because they are made of cheaper woods found in China. This does not mean that All Chinese Fake Telecasters are made from cheaper woods and weigh less. You can special order a guitar from China and pay the added cost to chose a specific wood. The problem is you will get that wood choice., However, it will be the worst selection of that specific wood as compared to what you might get in the US. So, a Fake "Tele" caster from China or a "Chele" caster made of a high quality and denser wood will weigh much more than a common US made Tele. I ordered a CHELE from China mae of Rosewood and its weight came in at 9.8 pounds much heavier than a normal US Tele. Hope this helps....
A 1977 Fender Telecaster Custom weighs approximately 7 pounds and 5 ounces
4.2kg 1976 USA Precision
i think around 7 to 7.5 pounds
Does it matter?
The first Fender Stratocaster was designed in 1954 by Leo Fender, George Fullerton, and Freddie Tavares.
It depends on it's condition
A 1969 Telecaster will cost between 2500 and 5000 USD, depending on condition and color.
Just buy the Fender instead of the Squier. From the description, you're probably looking at a Fender '72 Telecaster Deluxe, with two "wide range" humbuckers and four control knobs. You can modify a Squier, but the cost of the modifications and the parts will probably exceed the cost of the guitar. And there is never any guarantee that the resulting sound will be good until you've already paid for and completed the modification. Also, a Squier depreciates in value pretty much the second you take it out of the store. A Fender, even a Mexican one, will hold its value better. When in doubt, just buy the guitar that already has the sound and feel you want.
Very easy playing guitar great for beginners, or: worth $250.00
how much is a mexican fender telecaster custom guitar 2004/5 worth

A version of the bass guitar was around even before Leo Fender revolutionized it. The first bass guitar was invented by Paul Tutmarc in Seattle, Washington, USA in the early 1930's. It was known as the "Electric Bass Fiddle," and appeared in a catalog by Tutmarc's company, Audiovox, in 1935. Much smaller than the double bass, this bass was easier to carry. This bass was not fretted, however, and was not quite as popular as its descendant. This design was innovated greatly by Leo Fender, founder of what is now known as Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Using a telecaster-body design, Fender came out with the "Precision Bass," a.k.a. "P-Bass" in 1951. It was fretted like a guitar, which allowed players greater ease in playing in tune (hence the name: "Precision Bass"). Not only was this model easier to carry than a double bass, but it was also much easier to play in tune. This model was extremely popular and was the first bass guitar as we know it today. It is likely that Paul Tutmarc was the first person to ever play the bass guitar, although Leo Fender was likely the first to play the version we know and use today.
