Insurance costs depend on several factors, such as location, size of company, payroll &/or cost of subcontractors and claims history. The owner and manager's experience, kind of work performed, years in business also matter. It also depends on the amount of coverage, endorsements, deductibles and the overall claims history of that class of business with the chosen insurance company. Contact a couple of agents in your area and ask them to give you a quote based on your particular case.

If your employer doesn't carry Workers' Compensation, they may not realize that they remain liable even if they are exempt from being required to carry insurance. Ask them to talk with their insurance agent about the risk.
