There is 3 "main" ones.

UDP, TCP, and ARP.

UDP - Used for very fast messaging between servers

TCP - Used for things like chats, http, etc..

ARP - "Address Resolution Protocol" this is what's used to make it so that you are assigned an IP address..

There are thousands, literally, of protocols out there. Those are just the ones I believe fallinto this category.

What is a router and what are its purpose?

router networking/roo't*/ A device which forwards packets between networks. The forwarding decision is based on network layer information and routing tables, often constructed by routing protocols.

Can router be used as a server?

Generally, no, unless the router is part of a server based system. A router is a dedicated device to routing packets between networks or subnets. It has no traditional server function such as print or file serving, etc.

Does wireless networks must meet all the same security requirements of a wired LAN?

It's supposed to, but the problem with wireless networks that you can catch packets even if it was not send for you. Such problem was eliminated for wired networks a while ago, the solution is used in all routers. For wireless networks such solution cannot work in principle.

Improving security in real time wireless networks through packet scheduling?

In the present network we have not a security of your data so you can do develop a some algorithm, that is useful to protect the packets in dynamically, but now used algorithms can't protect the packets,so we can develop spss algorithm, this algorithm is more protect the packets compare to other algorithms.......

What is circuit switch and packet switch?

These are types of switches used in networks. A packet-switched network moves data in separate units called packets which are then assembled to create the message. Circuit switched networks send continuously but require dedicated point-to-point connections.

What is an MPLS network with regards to online networks?

MPLS is one of the mechanisms a network may use for transporting data. It is used for routing packets more efficiently than IP packets. Within the OSI model MPLS can be found working at the data link layer and the network layer.
