Almost anything in the medical field is in high demand. Nurses, medical technicians, radiology technicians, etc. There is also a pretty good demand for teachers, as well as in the field of computers. Many people have trouble finding help in their area for someone to help them when their computer crashes, and even with the more simple computer problems. The computer techs that make house calls are in pretty big demand in my area.

Also, check the job section of your local newspaper to see which fields have the most openings; that will give you a better idea of the job market in your area. But you also need to choose a field that is something you know you will enjoy doing. No matter what the job is, or how good the pay, if it isn't something you really like then you won't be happy with it. If a person isn't happy with their job, then they are more likely to be unhappy in other areas of their life, as well.
