Muslims can have many kind of jobs, but they are discouraged from doing jobs that contradict Islam. For example, selling alcohol or pork because Islam forbid drinking alcohol and eating pork.

However if they are working for someone else (like a supermarket) than sometimes it might be ok if they are in a desperate position, but it wont be liked.

Lots of jobs. Doctor, engineer, lawyer, taxi driver, teacher, electrician, plumber, mechanic, Senator, chef, baker, grocer, psychologist, policeman, firefighter, ambulance driver, construction worker, inspector, pilot, manager, etc.

All lawful jobs are allowed to the Muslims. They may, however, not do job in alcoholic business or a business that engages in usury (like traditional banking or insurance).

Every good job, as long as it's a useful job and help each other, it's Halal for Muslim. Deny the unuseful job and bad things of jobs, do the best for other.

All legal jobs are allowed for Muslims to have except that related to alcohol or pork or gambling.
