The most basic electrical circuit consists of a power supply (source) and a 'load'. Here are some basic examples; AC & DC respectively:

* Household AC + Lightbulb * Car Battery + Starter * Car Battery + Horn

A typical electrical circuit could be a 'source', 'load', & switch:

* Household AC (wall socket), + lamp + lightswitch * Car Battery + Starter + ignition switch (key turning) * Car Battery + Horn + Sensor Switch on Steering wheel (to blow the horn)

Another typical circuit could be; Source, Load, Switch, Feedback device:

* Household AC + Clothes Dryer + Start Button + "On" light * Car Alternator + Radio + Radio 'On' Switch + Radio 'On' LED

Electron flow is the basis of electrical current in a circuit. A current will flow in a circuit if there is a potential difference (a Voltage) between two points. A voltage is generated by a battery or other supply and the current will flow from the positive terminal of the battery to the negative terminal of the battery through one or more components. The components can include resistors, lamps, semi-conductors etc.

Here is the confusing part: Electrons have a negative charge and therefore they flow from the negative terminal towards the positive terminal, the opposite direction to the conventional current.

The rate of flow of electrons is determined by two factors. One is the voltage -the higher the voltage across a resistor or other component, the faster the electrons will flow (i.e. the higher the current). The higher the resistance of the components, the slower the electrons will flow.

The current flow can be calculated using Ohm's law, Voltage = Current X Resistance. The equation allows us to predict and calculate the way a circuit will operate.

An electric circuit is like a pathway made of wires that electrons can flow through. A battery or other power source gives the force (voltage) that makes the electrons move.

What are three reason why a simple circuit may not work?

The circuit may not be complete. The power source may not be sufficient. The polarity of the battery is messed up.

What are parts of the simple circuits?

A simple circuit contains the minimum things needed to have a functioning electric circuit. It requires three things: 1. A source of electrical potential difference or voltage. (typically a battery or electrical outlet) 2. A conductive path which would allow for the movement of charges. (typically made of wire) 3. An electrical resistance (resistor) which is loosely defined as any object that uses electricity to do work. (a light bulb, electric motor, heating element, speaker, etc.) Despite being considered simple, such circuits are useful and quite common. Examples include flashlights and doorbells. it also needs a way to get to the light and a way back from the light so it can function properly or even work at all.

How can science make work easy?

understanding how things done.

Is using AC and ceiling fans together a good idea?

Answer Absolutely! This way your air circulates better and will cause the air conditioner to work less. Make sure that they your electricity can handle so much use on one circuit, otherwise you may blow that circuit.

How science is importance to mankind?

Science is important because we need it to understand how to make things, how things work, and how to advance things. Also, why some things are bad to advance, or use once we have advanced them far enough, i.e. Nuclear Weapons
