Music was one of Manson's biggest disappointments, that I think had a hand in the 'Helter Skelter' buisiness. He was enraged because Terry Melcher rejected his music and had nothing to do with Manson after listening to his songs for just a few minutes. Manson was in turn angry at Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys. He felt Wilson let him down. When Wilson tried to explain that his part of the deal was to ask Melcher to listen to Manson's songs, which he did.
