I don't know that any sort of offical poll or statistic exists, but Salt Lake City was voted the most gayest city in America in 2012. Salt Lake has a thriving and vibrant gay community, mostly based in the downtown, Avenues, University, and Sugarhouse neighborhoods, although many live in the suburbs.
There are several gay community organizations, and most cities in the metro area have equal housing and employment laws. Many large local employers will recognize 'civil partners' as spouses for benefits. There are LGBT community centers, a large annual Pride celebration, several gay bars and night clubs, even a gay choir and gay theatre. Most local attractions (the zoo, Lagoon theme park, etc) host "Gay Days" with discounted admission for LGBT people and their families.
