The amount of water in a human body depends on age, gender, body type, and level of physical activity. The bodies of infants up to about twelve months of age contain about 58 percent water; the bodies of children six to seven years of age are 62 percent water; teenage boys are about 59 percent water; and teenage girls are about 45 percent water. The body of an adult male is approximately 62 percent water, while an adult female is 51 percent water. Physically active individuals generally have more water in their bodies than those who are less physically active. Because they sweat more, active people need to replenish water more often, thus raising their water level. A trained male runner may have up to 71 percent water in his body, while a female gymnast may have 70 percent. Obese individuals, on the other hand, have a lower percentage of water in their bodies (about 48%). Morbidly obese individuals are only about 36 percent water. In addition, the older one gets, the less water is retained in one's cells. As a result, old skin looks drier and wrinkles appear.

There is approximately 70% of water covering earth versus land. So statistically you would have to look at that fact and judge around that basis. To break it down. Looking at this statistically from land, the animals on land are plenty but in various locations. based off this analysis the animals on land would be approximately 10-20% of 30% of land. Now the same analysis can be used to look at water. There aren't animals in every square inch of the ocean but there are a various and plentiful amount that exist. So in a guess I'd say the amount of animals in water of water would be 40-50% of 70% of water.

It varies on the animal. For example, the Water Bear, a microscopic creature only 1/16 of an inch, is 99.9% water, while humans are about 75% water.

What is the appearance of a plant cell when water is plentiful?

When water is plentiful, the cell expands so that the plant stands upright. Without water, the cell shrinks, so the plant wilts. When water is plentiful, the cell expands so that the plant stands upright. Without water, the cell shrinks, so the plant wilts.

What happens to plant cell in medium concentrated water?

if the plant cell is in concentrated water...it shrinks .i.e the water in plant cell flows out and hence the plant cell loses its turgidity and shrinks.this process is called exosmosis .

What does a large vacuole do in a plant cell?

It holds water in the cell for later use.

What happens when plant is put into water?

If a plant cell is placed in fresh water, there will be a net movement of water into the cell - because the solute concentration inside the cell is greater than outside. This occurs because the system is attempting to reach equilibrium (where the concentrations inside and outside are equal). Unlike an animal cell, a plant cell will not burst when excess water enters the cell. This is because the cell wall helps the plant cell maintain its structure.

What is the job of water molecules in a plant cell?

To bring about all metabolic activities in a plant cell water is essential.

What type of cell has a nucleus and a large vacuole?

A plant cell has a larger vacuole than animal cell. The plant cell needs to store more water for photosyheteis and to keep the rigidy of the cell wall. That's why plants wilt when they don't get enough water.

How does the stem cell help the plant?

The cell in the plant stem helps the plant by transporting water and materials throughout the plant.

What does a transport system do in a plant cell?

transports food and water supplies to the plant and cell.

How does hypertonic affect an plant cell?

hypertonic means the cell has too much water, it's become water logged. In an animal cell the cell will rupture, however the cell wall of the plant cell with prevent this from happening and the plant cell with become swollen.

What do plant cells have that prevent them from swelling after an intake of too much water?

When a plant cell is full of water. It will get ready to burst. But if it tries to burst it will not. Because of something that a plant cell has. It is a Cell Wall.

If a plant cell is in water will it burst?

NO.
