If you are a school student and you think you may know who is behind this, then it's important that you notify school officials immediately. If you are being threatened with something you've either said or done, discuss this with your parents as they may be able to help curtail the matter. But it's also important, if the bullying contains any specific threats of violence, suggestions that something will happen to you, or demanding that you do something to bring the bullying to an end; that is called blackmail. Your local police must be notified immediately. Under no circumstance should you reply to any of the comments or emails. And you should not, at any time, delete them. Your computer provides an audit trail of any transactions or interactions that have come to you, even when you delete them. The police will most certainly ask you to maintain a log and retain all postings you receive. Depending on the type of threats or comments may fall within the responsibility of a national force, such as FBI.

No matter what, the first step is to realise that their activities are for the purpose of upsetting you and altering your life. Mention it to no-one, including school mates, (not even your closest friend)! Bullying of any sort needs to be addressed as quickly as possible.

Should students get suspended for cyberbullying?

Yes, I do believe that if a student were to bully them on the internet ( or known as cyber bullying ) they should be suspended. Even if it is on the Internet, it is still considered bullying. There have been some cases where the victim committed suicide ( or known as bullycide ) because of cyber bullying. Either way, it does not matter if it was on the Internet or not, it is still bullying and it hurts the victim. It depends on where they are cyberbullying. If the School is 100% sure it is while on their premises then they may take a view to suspend a student. If it is from elsewhere then it cannot be held responsible for that student and therefore they should not suspend them.
