What should you do if you are having a difficult time getting over someone even though they have hurt you over and over again?

First thing you need to do is stop trying to make sense out of the situation because I was having trouble with this same problem a couple of months ago. It's nothing you could have done to love this person any more than you already have and just make it up in your mind that you deserve better and you deserve to be loved. Then get out and do something you like alot not something you use to do with that person figure out what you want in a relationship and then look for that in the next person you meet and if they don't have it don't bother with them try not to sit around the house or look at pictures of this person as a matter of fact get rid of anything that has to do with this person you put them out of your life now put them out of your home. Get rid of that stuff that's reminding you of this person once you have done that listen to beyonce's song she just came out with the words are wonderful she says "I can have another you (meaning another love) in a minute." So stop stressing someone is out there for you, you just have to believe and go out there and get it. Right now it doesn't seem like that would be the best idea but its going to take time before you heal from this person but don't sit around waiting on the same thing all over again. Yeah your going to hurt but don't dwell in the pain or else you'll go through the same thing everyday it'll seem there are no happy days because they're not in it but that's where your wrong they were the one causing your unhappiness so don't even worry about them and especially if they hurt you. You have so much more to give someone else know go find him or her and give it to them the same love they took for granted someonelse will appreciate ten times more. No one can tell you how to get over someone you love or loved its a process you just got to deal with it in your own way but above are some ways to help you get through the hard days and even when it seems like you just want someone around look at yourself in the mirror and say that I am a wonderful person and I deserve to be loved and I'm going to find love. You never know my sister told me when I was going through my thing with my ex that sometimes God takes people out of your life for a reason no one says you can't love this person anymore what they are saying is that the person you thought was for you wasn't really for you and it's okay to be mad and angry but don't let that person steal what little joy you have left. So put a smile on even when you don't feel like smiling put your best clothes on even when you just want to put on your worst and just give life your all whoever hurt will realize in the long run what kind of person you are and what a big mistake they made and then they'll want you back because the grass always look greener on the otherside, and it's a fact that karma is a bitch and what goes around comes around put it all in Gods in fact pray about your situation and I'll assure you that whatever you lost you'll get something even better back in return.

My partner of 27yrs (we are in our 60s) tells me he stopped loving me 20yrs ago,he got into an affair with a girl 24yrs younger that himself 5 yrs ago (a friend of the family) but the problem is we have taken on the responsibility of bringing up a grandchild and have had her since she was 9months old, she is now 9yrs and is extremely close to my partner, and i feel i have no right to take her away from him,i have lived in this nighmare for 5 yrs now, i travelled overseas on several occasions to get away from various situations but he has done nothing about a separation or the like,i went to lawyers thinking he would come to some arrangement but it has been a waste of time and money, all he says is i love this person and i don't know what to do about it, he says he doesnt want to hurt anyone but has for 5yrs now, when i go away he takes this woman out,when i come back he stops taking her out, but is on the pH constantly,he wont go to counselling or the like, i have but it hasn't helped,i am at my wits end, why this woman for one keeps herself in the picture she is 38 i cant understand.
