What should you do if you asked a question and the person who answered it interpreted it the wrong way and gave you a strange answer?

You have a few options in a situation like this: * Go to the discussion area of the question and state your question a little differently, or provide some additional information. You can also send the individual a note on his/her personal message board describing the situation a little better; in general, though, using the discussion area of the question is better, as (a) it keeps your comments linked to the question, and (b) other editors can see it more easily. * If the answer given does not reply to the question in any way, as it could be interpreted by any reasonable person, delete the answer. * If the answer does reply to the wording of the question as it exists, but it's not what you wanted to ask, ask a new question.

Consider this, a person who is asking a question does not know the answer. Which explains why the question is answered. As far as the strangest, I would have to say it is the same as the dumbest question asked. YOURS. No question is stupid or strange.
