Pro Tools 8 needs Windows 7 in order to operate and cannot run on earlier versions of Windows such as XP.
C:\(Username)\Downloads This should be correct on windows.
Unless you do not want to have to install windows 8 onto your computer, there is absolutely no reason to wait.
You should install Windows7 and afterwards, you have to install the driver for your print devices.
You should buy an upgrade version of Windows Vista however your computer if running XP is likely not to be powerful enough to run windows vista. You should run Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor before upgrading as this will show you any problems your computer may have running Vista.
if you have windows XP you can just visit the www.microsoft.com home page and type service pack 3 in the search bar. it should be the first link. or just follow the link i provided: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=68c48dad-bc34-40be-8d85-6bb4f56f5110 it should take u straight to the service pack 3 overview page. click on "download files below" click install then run, and u should have service pack 3 up and running.
This shouldn't be a problem normally, since you paid for a copy of that OS. The operating system should have drivers for the desktop, and it should install onto the desktop without any problems
iTunes 4.1 should; all others will probably require Service Pack 1 or later. Service packs for Windows are free; there's no real reason not to install one.
if u have winxp on the master hd, just boot ur computer from a 98boot disk and install win98 on the slave. the computer should automatically configure itself for dual boot.
The Windows installation disc should have come with your new computer. If you lost it, contact Microsoft for a new one. Or you can go to a store and buy a new copy.
Yes. Windows XP can be upgraded from the RTM release or a service pack to any subsequent service pack. For example: Windows XP RTM ---> Windows XP Service Pack 3 Windows XP Service Pack 1 ---> Windows XP Service Pack 3 Windows XP RTM ---> Windows XP Service Pack 2 Service Pack 3 is the latest service pack for Windows XP; any planned updates should be to this service pack, and not an older one. As per above, you do not need to install any previous service packs before installing Service Pack 3.
if you have the windows xp disc that came with your cdomputer then what you do is put it into the CD drive and then restart your comuter but when you restart you computer it should say like ex: mines says f10 to enter menu" so push that and what you do in the menu is look for boot from CD then you can format the whole computer and install a new windows like vista or somthin or you could reinstall your windows, hope i helped : ) ~KillaManilla~
To install Windows 95 from MS-DOS, run an F disk before formatting the hard disk. Then add a switch /S so that the partition will be bootable.
