What size hot water tank do you need for a 1650 square feet house?

We need to know the number of Plumbing fixtures that would require a hot water supply. i.e. How many sinks, showers, dishwasher? washing machine? To determine the total gallons per minute that you would need. Most systems are designed to have multiple units, each at a different usage location. The goal is to have the hot water right away after all.

It all depends on how many fixtures you have. If you have more than two full

baths then i would at least have a 50 gal. tank. More the better if you could

use a 100 then i would put in a 100 gal. if you had the room to do so. Or go

with a tankless type, i would only use a gas one with at least 250,000 B.T.U.

rating. That way you would never run out of hot water.

The size of the house has very little to do with how big of a water heater to get. How many baths, how many people using them, personal preference as to how long of a shower to take. 30 gallon is standard a lot of the time, but a 40 gallon is not going to use that much more gas or electricity.
