Some passengers grouped together to sing hymns, one of which was Abide With Me, although there were other hymns sung, reports of which vary.
The story that ship's band leader Wally Hartley and his orchestra played Nearer, My God To Thee and the hymn Autumn are a myth- they didn't, they just played cheerful ragtime numbers to try and keep the passenger's courage up until the band could not longer stand upright or hold their instruments. None of the orchestra survived the sinking.
