Barack Obama faced that he was not one race he was half African American and half white , he never got tangled up with all the negativity and after facing these challenges as a child he is now the first African American president . Barack Obama is a hero and a part of history.
He mother remarried to an Indonesian and he went with her to Indonesia and this may have been a little hard for him. After that, he had an easy life, but I suspect he had most of the struggles that anyone has in growing up. He worked for what he got and he must have found it hard at times, but not too hard since he succeeded wildly in virtually everything he tried until he became President.
After the first year, practically everything has been a struggle for him as President.
For one thing, he was the child of biracial parents (his mom was white, his dad was black), at a time when interracial marriage was not yet very common. For another thing, his biological father left when young Barack was only two, and never kept in touch; Barack only saw him one other time. And for a third thing, his mom re-married to a man from Indonesia, so the family left Hawaii, where he knew everyone, and moved to a country where he did not even know the language. And while he seemed to make friends and adapt to the culture, he was happy when he was given the opportunity to move back to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents and finish school.
Principally, the obstacles imposed by being a black person in the U.S.
