What is the pressure of chlorine inside a chlorine tonner in India?

10 KSC

How long wait chlorine in pool?

I'm not sure what you mean. If your qeustion is how long do you have to wait to swim after adding chlorine, it really depends. If you're adding chlorine to bring the level up to 2.0 or 3.0ppm, then wait minimum 1 hour before swimming, and be sure the filter is on. If you're shocking the pool and bringing the level up to 10-12ppm, you need to wait until the pool reaches a safe level as stated above.

How would you test for chlorine?

You'll need a test kit or test strips. OTO drops (turn yellow) are available cheaply at places like Walmart, and provides a reliable and fairly easy to read test. Test strips use a chemical, syringaldazine, that turns bluish. This is also a reliable test for chlorine, but is not quite as easy to read. Also, the other parts of pool test strips, especially the alkalinity and stabilizer pads are NOT reliable. DPD tablets turn pink in the presence of chlorine. They are pretty easy to read, and very reliable for levels of chlorine less than 10 ppm. Above 10, they can 'bleach' out, and read zero, even though the chlorine is very high. DPD-FAS turns pink when chlorine is tested, and then back to clear as the FAS is drop-counted it. It is the most reliable and accurate method, but also more expensive and 'fiddly'. For starters, I'd recommend OTO drops. Pool store types will tell you that OTO doesn't distinguish "Free" and "Total" chlorine, which is true. But, unless you add a bunch of cheap algicide, or something like "Yellow Out", OR let your chlorine levels yo-yo around . . . it doesn't matter on outdoor pools. If you do have "Total chlorine" or, really, "Combined chlorine", simply maintaining a good constant chlorine level for several days will make it 'go away', at least on outdoor pools.

What do you need to do if your free chlorine level is higher than your total chlorine level?

Get a new test kit or new test reagents. Total Chlorine is the measure of free and combined chlorine, therefore the free chlorine cannot be higher than the Total Chlorine. You can't put 10 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket.

How do you get high free chlorine to match total chlorine?

Total Chlorine = Free Chlorine + Combined Chlorineor, put another wayTotal Chlorine - Free Chlorine = Combined ChlorineFree Chlorine is the chlorine that is doing its job.Combined Chlorine is the chlorine that has combined with contaminants such as nitrogen. It is ineffective as a sanitizer and it is noxious.Total Chlorine is the total of these two levels. To eliminate the Combined Chlorine (making all the chlorine in the pool Free Chlorine) you must shock the pool to remove the contaminants. You must reach "Breakpoint Chlorination", which is the addition of chlorine to your pool equivalent to the Combined Chlorine level times 10.example:Total Chlorine = 1.5ppmFree Chlorine = 1.0ppmSo, the Combined Chlorine (the difference between the two tests) is .5ppmBreakpoint chlorination, in this example would be .5ppm X 10 = 5ppm. So, in this example, you would add enough chlorine to your pool to raise the chlorine level up by 5 parts per million.

How long will it take a chlorine level to drop from 10 ppm to 3 ppm in a 7000 gal pool?

A few days. You will probably be able to use the pool when the level gets to about 5.0 ppm 1) you should know the difference between residual chlorine and Free chlorine 2) Chlorine lost depend on size of you pool and temperature 3) circulation of water , temperature & size of pool will increase chlorine lost

What does it mean when your free chlorine is higher than total chlorine?

Technically no. Your total chlorine reading would include all forms of chlorine, which we tend to lump into to basic categories, Free and combined. If you get readings that show that the free amount is higher then total, I would suggest a retest. If you are still getting the same result, I would try another test or different reagents. I'm sure there might be something that could give you false results and that might be what id happening in this case. Actually it can happen because it happened to me today i saw it happen that the free chlorine was 2.49 and after the 2 minute waiting period the test was 0.33 and the sample was visibly less pink than when the DPD 1 was tested, there has to be some reason for this or some way to fix it as if we are using the same reagents for other samples and it is working for those then this must mean that there is something wrong with the water i a, testing and not the tablets i am testing with! The total reading after time will drop if the residual level is high enough and there is not enough DPD. Hach recommends for using a 5 ml sample instead of 10 ml and 2 power pillows instead of 1. This gives four times the DPD to do the analysis. With very high levels you can see a flash of dark color and then go to clear as the chlorine bleaches the color from the DPD. The addition of extra DPD overcomes the bleaching effect.
