For the mother cat that will be giving birth, here is what you do.
Bedding
They'll need a quite place, away from kitchen noises, such as tea kettles whistling, water in the sink pouring down, or vacuming. Preferably a warm closet. Set up the bed, maybe a cat basket or cat bed with plenty of cushions and space to shuffle around. Put her litterbox right outside of the bed.
Diet
Keep the expectant cat on a tight schedule, say you give your cat Fancy Feast, half a can in the morning, and half at night. Put extra water, preferably an empty can of Fancy Feast, or a fourth of a cup if you have dry food for your cat. Just keep the regular diet, but no more, no less. It has to be exact.
Behavior
Don't be alarmed when the expectant kitty doesn't want to be pet. She is just a little grouchy because her stomach hurts. The worst part of it is the first birth. The first litter she gives birth to will hurt the worst. The rest will be like riding a bike, cat-style. It won't hurt as bad at all. So don't be alarmed that she is grouchy.
Supply her with food, no treats or anything like that and plenty of water. She will sleep a lot, and when she's about to give birth, she'll squirm around. Sometimes, she gives birth sitting on her haunches. If she is in terrible pain, and won't tear open the sacs and start licking them, then you must do it for her. You'll carefully slide your fingers through the sac and gently pull it from the kitten inside. Rub the kitten with a warm (NOT HOT, NOT COLD, WARM) washrag.
When the mother cat's last kitten is born, put the kittens down by her. They will start nursing immediately. The mother cat will lick them. This gets their blood flowing and warms them.
Hope you have fun with your new kittens!
~have a blessed day~
What I did as my car had her babies was, I put her in a box before she had them(they will bleed down there and act finicky when they are in labor) and if your cat wants out, pet her and calm her down. When she lays down, start by her side and dont get her nervous. You must be in a quiet and controlled area, otherwise, she'll be extremely nervous. When she starts to have the babies DONT TOUCH THEM. You can't touch then for a few weeks, otherwise you'll get your scent on them, and she wrong know they are hers. She wouldn't take care of them, and sometimes they'll even attack them. Once she has the babies just leave her be. She can't take care of them. Just make sure she always has access to this room. Also dont go in and out of that room, this will get your cat nervous and she'll want to move them. I usually leave a tray of food and water, as well as a litter box in the room. Only go in that room to change and refresh the food etc. I try to keep a low light so it doesn't bother them. Check on them once in a while but not so constantly. I hope I've helped.
Watch to make sure that all the kittens are born and that mama is caring for them. Make sure they all start to suckle. Mama cat should need little help beyond this. Make sure that the cat and kittens are placed somewhere away from any hustle and bustle. Try to keep them in a quiet spot for privacy.

Before the birth, there should have been a birthing box made. An old cardboard box, cut down so mama can get in and out should be fine. Lay it with old towels on top of newspaper. Make sure it is where mama feels safe, but not too noisy and open. Her belly should go wavy, meaning contractions. Make sure she goes to the box, but if she goes somewhere else, move the box there. Moniter her as she gives birth, but don't interfere too much. She may let you help dry off the kittens. Make sure you don't make noise. It will stress her out, and she wont want to birth. After she is done, make sure she was lots of water, but other then that don't touch the kittens. Make sure all the kittens get to suckle. Make sure all the kittens are breathing. Then make sure no one goes around for a while, unless she is very trusting! After that she should be fine. Don't clean out the box with all the sacs the kittens were in. She may eat them! Hope you do a fine job! Good Luck!
Most births go pretty well and most cats don't need much help other than if they have a big litter and are tired they will need help cleaning the kittens after. To clean them get a small old towel (it will get covered in blood, which they are covered with when they come out) and rub gently keeping the kitten so that the mother can see the kitten.
If there are any problems take the mother and/or kitten to a nearby vet.
Also there are many sites and stuff to help.
after 16 weeks, get the mother fixed!
Well don't over shadow her too much or be afraid to comfort her. The mother will be in pain, like humans. Some cats actually prefer her human owner there with her as it is comforting, whereas others will prefer to birth her kittens alone in private. Its good to look on professional cat websites for anything concerning a cats health, or even better, have a vet on call the entire time just in case.
THE CAN WILL EAT THE PLACENTA... DO NOT TAKE THE PLACENTA AWAY! The mother eats the placenta to regain the energy.
Throw it out the window, make sure that you do it hard enough!
Yes and the mom and or dad should take care of it by feeding and nursing it.
No, that should not be necessary.

You should take care of plants so that they grow and continue to live. If you do not water plants and give them sunlight they will die.
Either give birth in a hospital or if you did a home birth, go to the hospital. You have to take the child to the hospital anyway so he/she can receive nessecary care.

Put it in a nice comfy place and stroke it. If she gets scared calm her down.
Well, to take care of a pregnant cat is easy. You just have to feed her a little more, give her more affection, and watch her belly. When the time comes, make sure she's comfortable to give birth.
