Well, dont get punched in the eye in the first place....but if that is unavoidable, try to use and ice pack to reduce the swelling...but basically the "black" part of the black eye is a hematoma, and will only go away with time. When in doubt of what to do when you have a muscle sprain or strain, use ice. In the situation of a bruise or black eye, a heating pad will make the blood vessels expand and will help the body remove these dead blood cells that make up a bruise.

∙ 16y agoThe quickest way to heal a black eye is by placing a leech on it!! Yup, you heard me right. Most people would rather put up with the black eye, but if a person has an important engagement or doesn't want others to see that black eye then that's the only recourse to get rid of it quickly. Some pharmacies will carry leeches. Ugh! Other than that you could use make-up to do the best you can. There are certain make-ups that are used for hiding scars, red spots, etc. If you are a guy then ask your girlfriend or a girl friend.
