A compound machine is made up of two or more simple machines. Most of the machines we see today are compound machines, some examples are: zippers, can openers, bicycles, staplers, scissors, pencil sharpeners, ceiling fans, pizza cutters, wheelbarrows, and bulldozers.
There are 2 of them and they are a wedge, and a lever.
What are three simple machines that are basically the same?
Two wedges and a lever.
Every compound machine is made up of multiple simple machines, such as a pair of scissors, which has two levers and two wedges.
Wedge and lever.
Levers (the two blades) and wedges (the blade edges).
The cutting edge is a wedge, and the length between the handle, the hinge and the blade is a lever. Two simple Machines together makes a compound machine.
Scissors are known as a compound machine because they contain two or more simple machines put together. Another example of a compound machine is a bicycle.

A compound machine consists of two or more simple machines put together. In fact, most machines are compound machines. Compound machines can do more difficult jobs than simple machines alone. Their mechanical advantage is far greater, too. Some examples are a pair of scissors and a bicycle.
