You don't have to use synthetic oil for your Saturn Vue but synthetic oil is said to lead to better performance by the car. Check out this chart on different types of oil that can be used: http://www.synthetic-motor-oil-change-and-filters.com/best-oil/oil-change-saturn-ion-and-vue-ecotec.php
How do you change the fuel filter on a Saturn Ion?" this might sound funny, but it's under the hood. it don't look like the oil filter your use to buying. look for a round cylinder type part with a large plastic nut. That's the oil filter, the fuel filter is under the car passenger side rear. holy crap who the hell said the oil filter is the fuel filter?

yes
dexron6 are type transmission oil for Saturn 2001 serial sc2
All Saturn Ions use Ecotec engines, which use a timing chain.
