You could argue that he was not so good at 'Staying alive' (he died aged 32 - very young given his wealth) however, he was very lucky to have lived as long as he did (if you consider some of his grievous wounds. Other than this, I struggle to recall any instance of his incompetence. He was very superstitious, but when you consider that whenever he listened to horoscopes he succeeded and the time he didn't, he failed and nearly died, stranded with his army without a drop of water.
