Originally he said "Break heart I prithee, break." Then he dies Then later on in a revised verion he said: Do you see this? Look on her. Look,

When King Lear realizes how crazy and dramatic he has been acting. I find that his momment of clarity is when Regan and Goneril leave Lear out in the storm. He then finds Edgar (in disguise as a mental homeless man) and offers him some kindness and realizes he should've helped the homeless when he was king. Hope this helps :).
The last words spoken by King Lear in the play are:
And my poor fool is hang'd: no, no, no life?
Why should a dog, A horse, a rat have life,
And thou no breath at all? Thou'lt come no more,
Never, never, never, never, never.
Pray you undo this button. Thank you sir,
Do you see this? Look on her? look her lips,
Look there, look there.
(Act 5, Scene 3)
In the last scene of King Lear Edmund is seen as a traitor. There is a battle with his half brother and he is badly wounded and dies after confessing he is guilty of the crimes.
He is used to show lears true feelings and higlight lears foolishness he is a significant character and is the only character in the play who can get away with talking to lear in the way in which he does. The fool acts as a commentator on events and is one of the only characters who is fearless in speaking the truth. His 'mental eye' is the most acute in the beginning of the play. He sees Lear's daughters for what they are and has foresight to see what Lears decisions will prove disastrous. Arguably, he could be seen as taking on the role of a wife for Lear; the absence of a mother from the main narrative, as well as the Fool's ability to be honest and accepted by the king suggests that he is taking on this role. This would then be a very interesting point on women.
Her last words were "Start digging."

Basically everyone dies in King Lear. King Lear, all three of his daughters (Regan, Goneril, Cordelia) die. Edmund and his father Gloucester die, too. It is unknown whether Kent (Lear's faithful servant) also dies in the end because some think his last line suggests his intention of suicide. Regan's husband Cornwall dies, as well as Goneril's servant Oswald. Practically, everyone but Edgar & Albany died!
