Some may think Aaron was a prophet due to a misinterpretation of this verse:
Exodus 7:1New International Version (NIV)7 Then the Lord said to Moses, See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
But a close read indicates that the word prophet here can be exchanged for 'mouth' in that Moses was God's prophet speaking on His behalf, while his brother Aaron was his (Moses') prophet speaking for him.
