The largest battleship was HMS Hood, which was destroyed by Bismarck with a single shell hitting the magazine. It was so devastating, that the ship was forced upside down on the sea bed - the only wreck ever to have done so.
There may have been bigger aircraft carriers, but they are not strictly battleships...
