This is a vague question because the type of diseases are not mentioned. Most diseases were treated rather primitively because antibiotics had not come onto the medical scene yet. They lacked most of the medicines and surgeries we have today. They had iodine and alcohol but they did not have the sterile chemicals we have now. They did know all about bacteria and germs and viruses but they had no cures. Medical science was still in its toddler years during World War 1.
