"Please Please Me"/"Ask Me Why" was released by Vee-Jay on 7 February 1963. Vee-Jay also released "From Me To You." Neither of these releases had any impact on the US market. "She Loves You" was released on the "Swan" label (Don't Drop Out was their motto).

Capitol Records, even though a sister label of EMI/Parlophone, refused to issue any Beatle tunes until they realized the phenomenon they were becoming in the UK and learned that Ed Sullivan had booked them for three consecutive Sundays in February, 1964.

Vee-Jay held the rights to the Beatles earliest releases in America from February, 1963 until October, 1964. Vee-Jay released an album entitled "Introducing the Beatles", which included "Love Me Do", "Please Please Me," and "Twist and Shout." The rights to those tunes reverted to Capitol Records in the fall of 1964 (after "A Hard Day's Night was released on the United Artists label and after the Beatles' first full tour of the US.) Capitol released the songs in an album entitled "The Early Beatles." Of all the Beatle albums on the Capitol label, it took the longest time to earn a "Gold Record" due to so many people buying the same songs on the Vee-Jay label.

You might say that Capitol Records had no vision.

I want to hold your hand. This is an incorrect answer. Background: The Beatles had not been picked up by Capital records, EMI's stateside sibling, for distribution of their music in the early 60's. Therefore the Beatles shopped their recordings for marketing by more than one stateside label. Two examples that I know of (and own): VeeJay picked them up and released both singles and an album which I have in my vinyl collection. Also, Swan records released "She Loves You" on a 45 long before Capital released their first Beatles single.
