Answer:
The Monk's name was Bahira. He was somewhere near or in the area that is known as Syria today. He saw the caravan approaching from a distance. What caught his eyes was a sign mentioned in one of his scriptural documents about the advent of Muhammad. The sign was that he would be protected from the harshness of the sun by the wings of angels. Now Bahira did not see angels; but it was a curious thing that, from a long distance, there seemed to be one single cloud that was following the caravan that Muhammad (who was in his early teens) was riding in. In fact, the cloud seemed to follow the caravan so well that it remained over one particular spot. That spot was where the young Muhammad rode.
As the caravan approached the village, Bahira was very keen to see who it was that was under the protection of that one cloud. When he found it was Muhammad, Bahira asked who was in charge of the young man. He was directed to his uncle. Then Bahira asked the uncle some questions about Muhammad's life, lineage, and character. He found that the description fit the prophecies he had. Finally, Bahira circled around to see if there was a distinct mark - a birthmark between Muhammad's shoulder blades - that was also another sign. When he found the birthmark, Bahira went again to Muhammad's uncle and told him to take very good care of his nephew because, he said, Muhammad was destined to do great things.
May God be pleased with Muhammad - and with Bahira the monk.
If you are a Christian monk, yes. Christian monks do not give up their religion upon entering a monastery.
Christian Potenza goes by Monk.

No, you must be an ordained Buddhist monk.
If someone who was "Christian" becomes a monk, they were probably not a real Christian in the first place.
He wasn't a monk. Martin Luther was a law student that questioned the Catholic Church. He was the start of the Protestant movement of the Christian Church.
The story goes that Bahirah, a Christian monk, saw a caravan in which Muhammad was travelling at a young age. From a long distance, Bahirah noticed that one part of the caravan was always shaded by a cloud. He knew this was one of the signs of the coming of the Last Prophet. When Muhammad's caravan came to where he was, Bahirah looked for the person at the center of that shaded area. He found Muhammad. Bahirah then found a way to see Muhammad's shoulder blades. When he found that Muhammad had a birth-mark in between his shoulder blades he knew that, in fact, this is the Final Prophet of God. So bahirah went to Muhammad's guardian and told him that "this boy will be a great person - guard him and protect him from people who may want to harm him". He never taught Muhammad. Muhammad did not know that he was to be a Prophet until the age of forty, when God called him to declare the message.
The monk who carried Christian teachings to the Germanic people in Saxony was Saint Boniface. He was a missionary from England who played a significant role in establishing the Christian church in Germany during the 8th century.
Depending on the type and order of a nun, the opposite could be monk or priest.

It is believed that a monk was the one who transcribed Beowulf because the poem contains Christian themes and references that were likely added by a Christian scribe. Additionally, the preservation of the poem in a monastic setting would have helped ensure its survival through the centuries.
I don't see why a Christian monk would want to. The hours are long, filled with readings and teachings of the Buddha, there is a lot of study and debate over the Buddhas teachings (BTW the Buddha endorsed debating his teachings as a method of both proving him right or wrong and as a method of making his followers actually understanding his teachings through reason and logic, not blind faith). So a Christian monk would not find much teachings or veneration of Jesus in a Buddhist monastery.
