the purpose of the coureur de bois are to learn the ways the aboriginal peoples live and their language to trade furs. they made lots of money but the king didn't like them because they don't work for the french, they are like half independant from the country
but some of the coureur de bois (runners of the woods) actually came to new France to shape the country
Some of the benefits of being this person is you get to meet new people and be friends with the Aboriginal peoples. Also, you gain confidant completing your assignments in this role. Another benefit is getting free food (from the Aboriginal woman) and get paid a lot for bringing back the traded fur.
Voyageurs were licensed fur traders employed by fur trading companies, while coureurs de bois were independent fur traders who operated without authorization. Voyageurs typically worked in the fur trade under the control of a company, while coureurs de bois operated outside of company regulations, often venturing into uncharted territories to trade independently.
The first nations changed the coureur de bois life because they helped the coureur de bois work together.
