For a stellar black hole you will be ripped apart by tidal forces before you cross the event horizon. Once the matter that once made up our body crosses the event horizon it can never leave and becomes part of the black hole's mass. With a supermassive black hole tidal forces at the event horizon are weak, so you could potentially cross the event horizon alive.

∙ 12y agoNothing that you'd be aware of due to the enormous gravitational pull; you would be torn apart in an instant. Theoretically, if you could survive or circumvent these pressures, and were able to attain a stable orbit within the event horizon, time would stop. You could spend another fifty thousand years of conventional time there and it would seem to go by in an instant, and if you were to pop out of the event horizon by some miracle, it would seem to you that you would have only been in there for a second or two. This is in accordance with Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
