Your CV joints or axles are probably going bad. You should probably take your car into a local mechanic to have it checked out.
could be a contant velocity joint
you might want to check your left side wheel bearings
Pops while moving but probably not when sitting still and just turning the wheel? One or both of the axles has a torn boot and the CV joint is going bad. Front wheel drive I assume.
One cause of a popping noise from the front end while backing up in cold weather is the drive shaft. A mechanic can help find the problem.
check cv joints ball joints tierodends
you probably need a cv joint
I'd try changing tires, worked for me.
That is doubtful. It sounds like you have a 4x4 vehicle and the front CV axles (or U-joints depending on how it is set up) are bad. typically you can first detect the joints going bad when turning in reverse. After a while, you will begin noticing the popping while driviing forward and turning if not repaired.

If it is front wheel drive is can be a bad CV joint but you should hear a popping noise if that is the case.
It could be low fluid in the power steering pump.
The Most Common Problem When You Hear A Noise While Turning Is The CV Boot. Rubber Boot Will Tear And you Hear It On Every Turn.
