Why would a 40 year old woman take a doll to her grandmothers funeral and send flowers in the dolls name?
This might make sense if the deceased was in the doll industry such a Ruth Handler who was the creator of the Barbie Doll for the Matson and Elliott company, better known now as Mattel, Inc. I have read that the famous Aviatrix Jacqueline Cochran had a doll she had as a child placed in her casket but cannot confirm this.

The Barbie countered with a law suit, but the Bratz doll was simply a different, contemporary fashion doll that did NOT look like the Barbie fashion icon. The problem with the Barbie is that it is an iconic product and, while the designers try very hard to keep it current, it has had no real "makeover" in it's history. The face of the doll is still the same one that it has had for 40 years. The Bratz doll did not look the same and had wildly different faces which appealed to the newest generation of doll lovers.
