Only 1987 - 1996
An Evinrude outboard, model number 35530, is a 1962 year model, 40hp engine.
BRP(Bombardier Recreational Products) still makes the Jhonson line but the offerings under the Jhonson name have been reduced, They still make the larger horsepower and four stroke engines, but BRP has focused primarly on the Evinrude brand.
I'm sorry, but you need to know the year of manufacture. If it's post-1968, 50/1 is OK. If it's pre-1958 or so, use 16/1. In between, Johnson/Evinrude went to 24/1 for a few years, then 50/1, and I don't know the exact year they went to 50/1. I would research that and make sure you are using the mix they suggested for the year of your outboard.
1966-67
The "J" prefix on this serial number would indicate a Johnson, however, Johnson / Evinrude uses the model number to designate the year model of the engine. What make is the engine?MURCURY
It is from 1972. They dont make them like that any more.
Sometimes the center of the prop breaks loose and slips or the splines get stripped. Also check to make sure you have the correct pitch prop for that motor and it is fastened securely.
As of January 2011 Evinrude does not. In 2010 they came out with a 15 hp E-Tec outboard motor. This is basically there 25hp model regulated to do no more than 15hp. If you look at these motors side by side, there the same size and weight. The weight of the 25 hp E-Tec 20" shaft is between 150 lbs and 183 lbs, depending on the model. The problem is that the 15 hp models weight the same and this too heavy for some boats transoms. In my opinion it's a joke, Evinrude did it so guys could by a smaller matching "kicker" outboard for trolling, next to there bigger higher outboard motor. Lets hope that in the very near future they will come out with a 9.9 or a 15 hp E-Tec that will have the lower weight. These outboards should only be weighing in the neighborhood of 80- 115 pounds. Hope this helps! Chris
joe Johnson gets 100 million for 5 years and 25,000,00 for each year
To make sure you buy authentic Evinrude parts, I would suggest you shop at an authorized dealer. To find one in your area, go to evinrude.com and click on "Find a dealer".
The Johnson Brothers make and sell dishes for over 100 years and have their own homepage. There you can look through their inventory and buy and even let them make the dishes you wish.
