I am also trying to find the answer of this one.
I have 99 Chevy Malibu v6. and it is very low in mileage . It goes around 330 km for a gas tank. So far no mechanic has found any problem. My original suspicion were on gas leaks , but recent inspection showed nothing is leaking. I don't drive the car a lot, it ran 4000km in last 18 months.
Could it be becasue I don't drive or drive for very short distances , liek less then 15 km in a trip, so the engine does not get optimium temperature ?
I have a friend who has 98 Malibu , it goes for him 550 km for a gas tank.
