, I am looking for someone to help me with Alabama law. My father passed away in the state of Alabama. I am my father's daughter and he only left me beneficiary over a life insurance policy. there was a friend in the state of Alabama that took care of my father. He went into the hospital without me being notified or any of the relatives. Through a phone call that was made to this care giver the next day that is how i found out of my father's passing. My father was not married. and had a step daughter from a previous marriage. She told the caregiver the next day she was in charge of the place where my father lived. Recieved his belong's such as billfold, keys, house keys,. He lived in a elderly resident with secure doors. The step daughter without documents has went in and stold my father's possesions and I am not being let in at the residence because she has the key. what procedures can I take against this really.
