When did Guy Fawkes plan to destroy the Houses of Parliament?

I don't know exactly when Guy Fawkes planned to destroy Parliament, but I do know it was during the "Stuart Era".

What year was Guy Fawkes arrested?

He was executed because he tried to blow up the parliament with a group. The plan involved blowing up the Houses of Parliament on 5th November. This date was chosen because the king was due to open Parliament on that day. At first the group tried to tunnel under Parliament but found out that they can rent a cellar under the houses of lords. But Guy Fawkes was caught when he was going to explode the gunpowder. Guy Fawkes was found guilty of treason and executed along with Thomas Wintour, on 31st January, 1606. The two men were both hanged, drawn and quartered

What country celebrates Guy Fawkes?

Since Guy Fawkes Night is a celebration of the failed attempt of the Guy to blow up the British Houses of Parliament, why would anyone else want to celebrate? Back then, the UK had control over some of the British colonies, so it was also celebrated by New Zealand, Canada and British Caribbean. I believe Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated to some extent in any country that has large numbers of English immigrants. Except ... Although the earliest European colonies on the East coast of what is now the USA were English, and belonged to the English Crown in 1605, Guy Fawkes Night (or Fireworks Night or Bonfire Night) has never been celebrated there. Miserable lot! They have always gone for Halloween, which of course is now killing off Bonfire Night in England - parents are much happier to send their children out into the dark night to knock on strangers' doors for trick or treat, than to take them to a firework display in the local park...and guy fakes is also celebrated in many other ways to did you know that EDIT: New Zealand still celebrates Guy Fawkes night thank-you-very-much

What crime did guy Fawkes do?

He attempted to blow up the houses of parliament with a massive amount of gunpowder hidden in the cellars. He was caught just as he was about to light the fuse. He was a catholic, and was trying to assassinate the king - who was a protestant.

Why was Guy Fawkes guilty of treason?

I think Guy Fawkes was innocent because: King James had a friend (Robert Ceceil) who was his secretary to him and sometimes he would lend him the key to the tower where all the gun powder was stored. And it was locked all the time, so Guy Fawkes couldn't have got in because he was catholic and at this point no one liked Catholics because the king was protestant, also Ceceil hated catholic very much and wanted rid of them so this would be the perfect plan. As well people would notice if there were 36 massive barrels in the palace.
