Best Answer

Islam reached Ethiopia very soon after Muhammad died and there are several letters between the early Caliphates and the Abyssinian monarchy. However, Islam did not become established in Somalia or eastern parts of Ethiopia until the mid 1200s with the creation of the Ifat Sultanate.
